Don't blink, you'll miss it. Days are quite short, and shrinking very quickly. The Sun does not rise very high above the horizon, and these Cathedral Mountains are casting a permanent winter shadow over much of the wetlands.

Open water on the nearby Tanana River creates freezing fog conditions, gilding everything in it's path with white crystals.
