The Robertson River and most other rivers in interior Alaska are upwelling and refreezing with early spring freeze - thaw cycles. One of our first and most obvious signs of impending spring.

I don't like to see the squirrels (Tamiasciurus hudsonicus) wake up in spring (yes, they spend much of the dark cold days of the far north in dormancy) and visit the feeders where winter birds have been coming to feed. They chase birds away, they 'set up residence' too close to my house with their destructive habits, they 'move in' to bird houses I have in the woods for flickers, boreal owls, chickadees, swallows etc, and when birds begin raising families, the squirrels will rob nests both of eggs, and young nestlings.

Only five shots, a very short time laps of a soap bubble freezing up. Next time, maybe I'll have the chance to do a 'burst' of more shots, and get started earlier in the freezing process.
The problem is, you have to make the bubble, THEN get the camera into the right spot, and focused on the bubble...
But I'll keep trying.
The best way to see the freeze up is to go to the expanded view, so it will play a repeat loop.
