Not sure what the glow in the upper atmosphere is, nor what caused it, but it was beautiful, and fascinating. Sun was fairly high in the sky mid morning, well overhead.

The wild Alaskan bluebells (Mertensia paniculata var. alaskana) are beginning their most welcome bloom time in interior Alaska. In the borage family, they have the typical borage 'pink/lavender/blue' hue and change of color as they mature. And with a quite nice smell reminiscent of cucumbers.

Low water in Yerrick Crick this year, not even during spring runoff. I've seen this entire channel so full, so tumultuous, that the bridge was in danger of washing away. Barely a trickle this year.
