Lovely blooms, a long way from their indigenous homeland in Colorado, but nevertheless blooming beautifully.

They have made a few seed pods, so hopefully the summer season here in interior Alaska is long enough for them to reseed themselves in a natural way.

These mighty shingled hedgehog fungi (Hydnum imbricatum) sometimes grow 12-15 inches (30-40cm) across, their shingled caps curling with maturity, exposing their spore bearing 'teeth'.
