Every now and then, my iphone shows me something fun. Like this. Set to portrait mode 'stage light', the phone highlighted the peonies while make the background disappear.
Right out of the camera, cropped for content.

We have so many of these Canadian tiger swallowtail butterflies (Papilio canadensis) this year, far more than usual. This one alighted on double snapdragon flowers.

Using the 'portrait' mode on my iphone, with 'stage lighting'. Nearly washed out the whiteness of the rose... and I didn't notice until cropping this photo that besides the bug visiting the rose, there was a little crab spider lurking (left) ... perhaps the bug was it's next meal.

Flowers of Death Camas (Anticlea elegans) among the blue columbine.
All parts of this plant are extremely toxic, fatal to humans and livestock... although I like it's look, and unusual flowers. I just won't eat it.

Not sure if this is an indigenous campion or introduced. Seed collected in the wild a few years ago and now a volunteer in one of my gardens.
Possibly Silene repens or Silene dioica.
