Well, I did anyway. This one was a cracker. We had some beautiful early mornings during the last few weeks of 2016. More to come hopefully. This is where the River Trent meets another river - the Derwent .

Shardlow is a village in Derbyshire (UK). Wikipedia says its an important late 18th century inland port for the transshipment of goods to and from the River Trent to the Trent and Mersey Canal. During its heyday from the 1770s to the 1840s, it became known as "Rural Rotterdam" and "Little Liverpool".
Quieter now mostly but the 'port' has survived remarkably well,
thanks to its status as Conservation Area.
