Several shots were stitched together to make this pano image, taken from a position part way up the hill known as Thorpe Cloud, with Bunster Hill on the right and the famous stepping stones hidden bottom right. Looking south-west up Dove Dale.

The Peak District National Park is poorly named. Although a beautiful and - in places - wild area, it has very few actual "peaks". These are two exceptions - still modest but definitely hills. They are Parkhouse Hill and Chrome Hill. Nicely decorated here with a light dusting of snow but with - not visible - a biting wind!

You seem to get real Weather here, whatever the time of year. Warm clothing always required! But this often brings some great light. Tittesworth reservoir over on the right.

The classic view of the path along the Great Ridge through the gate at sunrise. The ridge runs north east from Mam Tor in the Derbyshire Peak District
