These are not common in the UK. These Cranes were bred at Slimbridge and released into the wild on the Somerset levels as part of a breeding programme. We were very pleased to see four Cranes turn up at Slimbridge and they are building a nest quite close to the hide about 20m away.

This Crane has a broken top part of the bill it didn't seem to stop it feeding though.
This i think this is a juvenile from last year.
