These narrow boats have been moored up on the River Kennet in Reading - presumably for the winter. Thought the statue of the fisherman on the island was very appropriate!

Couldn't believe that after all the terrible weather we've had in recent weeks today was calm enough to allow the reflections of these houses to show in the waters of the Kennet and Avon Canal.

An unexpected calm winters day allowed this moored boat on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Padworth Lock to be reflected in the water.

Captured this photograph last Sunday on what has been the best day weatherwise this year – sunny and relatively warm.

I do not usually see many narrow boats moored along this section of the Kennet and Avon Canal but these two were obviously making the best of the sunshine and good luck to them! It has been a long hard winter and it is not over yet as Spring does not officially start until later this month.

A similar image to one I posted on 12 January 2014. In that time little has changed - the flood water is a little deeper and the river faster flowing. The amount of water that has passed this point in that period must be phenomenal. The partially submerged handrails indicate the normal course of the river.
