I don't see these birds often, so I was pleased to spot this American White Pelican on a recent day at a local park. A yellow plate, such as the one on this bird, forms on the upper bill of breeding adults.

The White-breasted Nuthatch had snatched a seed from the feeder and was flying away to either consume it or hide it somewhere in the bark of a tree to eat later, which they are known to do. The House Sparrow, meanwhile, is enjoying a seed right there on the feeder.
