Recently found photograph of and Austin K5 attending what appears to be a serious RTA. Unfortunately I have no other information on this well rebuilt K5 other than it carries a Rutland trade plate.

A large number of companies obtain vehicles similar to the above after WW 11, they were built by a number of companies in North America to a similar specification. This Canadian built Ford was used by Lincolnshire Road Car for recovery work.

This is believed to one of the first AEC Matador's purchased by a PSV operator for conversion to a recovery vehicle. It would have had to have special dispensation from the Ministry to operate on road as the Matador was 8' wide. It was used for many years in Devon General Livery and was based at Torquay.
