Moving across from Buxton depot to the sidings required a little shagging about as I recall. Out to the 'box, back into platform 2 then out to the sidings.

Here 679 and 680 complete the latter part of the move.

Moving across from Buxton depot to the sidings required a little shagging about as I recall. Out to the 'box, back into platform 2 then out to the sidings.

37680 and 679 have just come off the depot, the driver has changed ends and they are now crossing over to access platform 2 to eventually end up on the adjacent line into the sidings.

Obviously such a short move through the points requires full power to be applied. Because Buxton.

Recently reallocated 37411 sits on Buxton depot in March 1989.

Some of the 37/4s displaced from Scotland on West Highland Sprinterisation went on to easier lives; 411/422 and 425 ended up working for a living here.

37681 sits on Buxton depot in March 1989. This was the former 37130 which became a Tinsley machine in 1982. 130 will be familiar to many as the identity chosen for the Hornby BR blue class 37 model in the 1970s, complete with masking lines for small yellow warning panels and bloody great intrusive fixing lugs. Oh and class 47 bogies ffs.

Although only released from refurbishment in April 1987 it has already gained a shiny new coat of triple grey.

At this stage 681 had just slightly less than three years life left in it as it would be withdrawn following a collision at Skipton with [whispers] 144017.
