37883 sat at Manchester Victoria in, perhaps, early 1990. As usual I didn’t record the date, so it’s all guesswork.

A Cardiff heavyweight was common at Victoria the time, they came up on a steel train. Then, as with anything left carelessly lying around at Victoria, they were occasionally borrowed for the Pacer replacement loco hauled set.

The class 37 page says 883 worked to Southport in May 1990, but I don’t think this is the day. The rest of the phots are of Buxton in the snow and May ‘90 was apparently warm. Although that doesn’t rule out Buxton being covered in drifts.

I do also recall going to Buxton once and missing something going around the Oldham loop, maybe 883 did it twice…

Late August / early September 1990, 37677 sits at the head of a line of locomotives stabled up for the weeekend. The obvious 37688 sits behind with another, unidentifiable Buxton machine. A blue 31 sits on the blocks.

July 1989 and 37238 is parked in the Wallside at Manchester Victoria. At about this time it was transferred from Stratford to Tinsley. Stratford's Cockney Sparrow has yet to recieve attention from the Tinsley fitters.

31423 is the bank engine for the day.
