By the 27th May 1969, these locomotives had been assembled in the top yard adjacent to the recently demolished Barry Works pending dispersal to the sites of prospective preservation groups. They were among the first to be rescued and are: GWR 0-6-2T No. 5637, now on the East Somerset Railway, SR N Class 2-6-0 No. 31874, now at the Mid Hants Railway, GWR 4-6-0 No. 4930 HAGLEY HALL, now at the Severn Valley Railway, GWR 4-6-0 No. 5900 HINDERTON HALL, now at the Great Western Society, Didcot Railway Centre, GWR 4-6-0 No. 4965 ROOD ASHTON HALL, now at Birmingham Railway Museum, Tyseley, LMS 4-6-0 No. 45690 LEANDER, now at the East Lancs Railway, and GWR 2-8-0 No. 3803, now at the South Devon Railway.

Ex Penrhyn Quarry Railway 0-4-0ST BLANCHE departs from the Ffestiniog Railway station at Porthmadog with a train for Ddualt on 6th July 1969.
The engine was built in 1893 by the Hunslet Engine Company and purchased by the Ffestiniog Railway in 1963.
