A little Illinois Central Electric South Chicago time capsule, July, 1966. View looking north on Exchange alongside the IC South Shore station between 71st and 72nd. A little underexposed, but a neat scene.

The view here today has changed but is still quite recognizable. On this side of the street the bar and the ornate building next to it are gone, but the garage beyond it remains. The apartments on the other side of the street are still there, as is the IC station (although replaced with a new one on the same location). The big building in the middle with the Drugs store at street level is gone. Original slide in my collection, photographer unknown.
