On August 16th 2008 55022 was used on the SRPS North Yorkshireman railtour which ran from Dundee to Scarborough as 1Z55 (what else?). Seen here passing the Tyne Bridge, the very symbol of Newcastle, the tour employed the SRPS stock and a class 37 on the rear (712 iirc). The picture was taken from the symbol of Gateshead, the brutalist "Get Carter" multi-storey car park, which has now been demolished and replaced with a large Tesco store, a shopping centre and housing.

37425 works through Gateshead Metrocentre with 3S77, the North East Railhead Treatment Train returning to Carlisle on November 20th 2013. The 37 almost blends into the scene of Autumn colours here.

55018 "Ballymoss" makes the Newcastle stop with 1S27, the 07:36 Plymouth to Edinburgh service, which was worked as far as York by a class 47, the Deltic taking over at York for the run North, the loco having previously worked 1V93, the 09:50 Edinburgh to Plymouth to York. The stop provided an opportunity for some enthusiasts to make a rubbing of the nameplate. 5th September 1981.
