We drive through Hull, to get to the Port where we’ll depart from on the ferry to Zeebrugge in Belgium. An 18 hrs crossing, overnight, we’ll arrive rested!
The weather is glorious.
Kingston upon Hull, usually abbreviated to just Hull, is a city and unitary authority in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
It lies upon the River Hull at its junction with the river Humber estuary, 25 miles (40 km) inland from the North Sea.

DAY 1
First thing we see as we arrive in Port of Hull.
Pride of Hull was designed as two ships in one, both a car ferry and a cargo transporter, with three large freight decks, loaded by a single stern door and a car deck, on deck 7, loaded via a side ramp, now THAT is something I never saw on any other ferry!
MS Pride of Hull is a Bahamas registered passenger and cargo roll-on/roll-off ship in service with P&O North Sea Ferries on the Hull - Rotterdam route
Entered service on 2 December 2001.
Upon entering service she was the joint title holder of the World's largest Cruise-ferry with her sister, the Pride of Rotterdam.
She has 12 decks!
Only, this time I am not sailing on her... we take the route to Zeebrugge, in Belgium.
Beautiful weather, evening on board, full of happy people, some celebrating the end of their holidays and going home, others celebrating the start of the holidays and looking forward to adventures new. Like us.

DAY 1

The harbour of Brugge, the city where I was born, the city that we both love. It is a 13 hrs journey, we will dine, sleep and breakfast and wake up in Flanders. Joy!
Our ferry is the Pride of York.

Day 1

We are well on time, waiting now, stretching or legs and enjoying the sea air. First they load the freight, then it is the turn of the bikers, of which there are many, it is the Bank holiday w-e.
After that it will be our turn to board The Pride of York.

Then suddenly this lady appears, and it’s all go!
It is getting more and more exciting. Yes we are leaving the island that is England.
! Anywhere you want to go in the world… you have to first get off, whether by foot, bike, car, boat, train or plane.
The only ‘fixed’ link is in the South, the Channel Tunnel.
