Hard to believe that we had that much snow in November 2023.
This year we got some fairly cool temperatures in November, down to -10 below, but, not a lot of snow.
I know that will happen soon. Never fails.
So, this winter in place of fluffy white snow, we have been getting freezing rain and wind.
That has kept me from going out as much as I would like.
So, back to my archives and yes! more fox! :-)

After a short nap, she was suddenly all alert and ready to go.
Not really a "cat nap"!
Maybe, a "fox nap"?
Anyway, with the very slow shutter speeds, I was glad when she decided to stop moving.

She had been out in the woods hunting and scent marking her territory.
Then she came over near where I was standing and watching her and laid for a nap.
We have been having a lot of mild rainy weather and most of our snow has disappeared, leaving just the dead leaves behind.
Notice, she has the tip of her tongue sticking out.

This is the same fox as in my previous post taken two days earlier.
He uses this old beaver cutting a lot, since he persuaded his mom to leave her territory and move to a new area.
When this was her territory, she used this as a favorite lookout.
I think he figured it out from watching her.
She has always liked viewing her territory from an elevated perch.
The ice seemed harder yesterday, as even my carbide ice cleats sometimes slipped, making walking on it a bit "iffy".
