Something different for a change! :-)
This shot goes way back.
If you watch smoke raising from burning incense you don't really notice the beauty of it till you shine a light through it.
Then you see all the beautiful vortices that are constantly changing as they rise away from the incense.
I did a lot of experimenting, trying to get different results in the way the smoke looked. I finally found away to get the smoke to show a rainbow effect without using any filters or colored gels. No two shots are ever the same.
I finally had to quit.
Jan said, she was getting tired of the house smelling so strong of incense.
She puts up with a lot from me. She is a very patient lady.
We will be celebrating our 60th Wedding Anniversary in early March.
So, we must be doing something right.
So, much for my dad telling me, I was to young to get married and that it would never work out.........

She is a special fox.
In this shot, I thought her pose and the angle I took it from, made her look bigger then she actually is.
I am seeing more fox since the mating season has started.
I saw seven a few days ago.
But, the newer fox are a lot more skittish.
I did see one pretty fox again, that I hadn't seen since last October.
It has just relocated about 1/4 mile away.
Still haven't seen Big Red since last September.
I think Little Red is gone, as it has been about a year now.
He had left for four to five months before, but, alway showed up during mating season.

Normally, I don't shoot very many shots like this.
I like to work in close.
But, sometimes its nice to show where the fox hunt and what the terrain is like.
She doesn't come down to this area as much as she used to after the little male (her pup from a litter 3 years ago) chased her out and took over.
She now has a new area where she mostly stays.
She has been marking her new territory very aggressively.

I did this one in B&W, because I wasn't happy with the way it looked in color.
Sometimes, when shooting in very marginal early morning light, the color, just won't correct.
So, I decided to try this one in B&W.
I kind of like the way it turned out.
I saw lots of fox this morning. I believe at least seven.
But, the light was so bad I didn't hardly take any shots.
Also, they were so busy chasing each other, that the slow shutter speeds just wouldn't produce a sharp image.

She had come down to her old territory and was a bit nervous.
Pretty sure that she was checking to see if her male pup from three years ago was in the area.
He has been really extending his territory.
Especially, since mating season has arrived.
We had, a lot of rain for about a week and then the temperatures dropped and all the ponds of water froze.
This was very close to her one old den.
It had flooded out and was froze over.
She is staying back in the area where she had her two pups last spring.
