BHS 100 goes about its daily routine. Having switched customers, the crew now has the train together and is heading for the NS to deliver interchange.

While roaming the south side of Chicago, we found this GP30 sitting pretty at the former COFCO, now Growmark, B-house grain elevator. we looked all over for someone to grant us permission to photograph the engine. After several minutes and no one to be found, we donned some PPE, walked around the front of the engine, grabbed some rosters and hightailed it out of there. Most industries don't like photographers, but we didn't get stopped, and this former DRG&W GP30 was a nice prize.

On my way to work one Sunday afternoon, I spied a westbound South Shore freight leaving Bailly. Having a few minutes to spare, I setup at the only between Bailly and Ogden Dunes and nabbed their pair of SD38-2s with a short mixed freight.

The Monon heritage engine is in charge of Chicago-Grand Rapids train M326, seen here just inside Michigan at New Buffalo. Monon's Michigan City branch crossed the Pere Marquette mainline on the west side of Michigan City, IN. With both railroads' focus being on getting to Chicago, and both having somewhat early departures from the railroad industry due to mergers, it's no wonder that no traffic ever developed to for Monon and PM to have operated through trains between say, Lafayette and New Buffalo or Louisville to Grand Rapids.

I think these may be the hardest heritage engines to find. with such a small amount in this livery, it's a moral imperative to get one when they pass through. CP 7010 races through Burns Harbor at 50mph with a seemingly endless string of autoracks.
