Shot on my Japanorama photowalk up in Todoroki Ravine the other week. This little red leaf surrounded by yellow ginko just popped out at me.

Beautiful display of momiji at this shrine in Kamakura. They were yet to turn red, which was pretty weird for the end of November.

Haven't uploaded anything for ages. Been so busy the past few weeks. Just before I head out to teach some students, uploading a few from a recent Japanorama walk in Kamakura.

I spent an hour or two up in Gaienmae with a student last week. Some great scenes. Shot this as a quick demo of how to get a great shot from the hip, focused at 3m distance with the 50mm. Previously we'd be trying to get shots of people shooting the trees and people quickly became conscious of us, and turned away. With the camera held down by my side, in portrait orientation and with the slight up-angle I needed to get the right view, you can sometimes get a little more drama in the shot than if it's shot from head-height.... where the view tends always to be looking down.
Like how this came out.
