The greatest Christmas gifts don't come wrapped under a tree. The sky was filled with color this Christmas morning at twilight just before sunrise as I was passing through Hedley. Texas isn't known for its landscapes, but it can sure serve up a sky. There wasn't too much interest to put in the frame off the main highway, but this group of wind break trees surrounding a ranch home sufficed. Hedley, Texas, USA, December 2014

Heading home from Colorado, the sun looked like it was going to break out below a layer of clouds that had kept the sky overcast most of the day. I found this spot on the side of the road with a small patch of wild flowers just in time to catch the setting sun as it blanketed the plain. Southeast Colorado, USA, August 2014

I was already pretty happy to capture the sunset over the plains, and then I turned around and saw this light show developing. It was an amazing evening. Just east of Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado, USA, August 2014

First evening at the Festival of Cranes, I was driving around to scout areas to photograph. As the sun was setting, this seemed like a good vantage point. When the snow geese took off, it made for a fun experience. Bosque Del Apache Wildlife Refuge, New Mexico, USA, November 2014

Taken with a Canon G15 Point and Shoot on a mini tripod. Had this set up to the side while photographing down at Schwabacher. Granted it's not DLSR quality, but pretty acceptable overall. Grand Teton National Park, USA, June 2014.
