The greatest Christmas gifts don't come wrapped under a tree. The sky was filled with color this Christmas morning at twilight just before sunrise as I was passing through Hedley. Texas isn't known for its landscapes, but it can sure serve up a sky. There wasn't too much interest to put in the frame off the main highway, but this group of wind break trees surrounding a ranch home sufficed. Hedley, Texas, USA, December 2014

Heading home from Colorado, the sun looked like it was going to break out below a layer of clouds that had kept the sky overcast most of the day. I found this spot on the side of the road with a small patch of wild flowers just in time to catch the setting sun as it blanketed the plain. Southeast Colorado, USA, August 2014
