While visiting friends in Maine, they needed to put up their boat for the winter and graciously took me on a harbor cruise in the process. It was a pleasant weather day to be out and enjoy the sights. I had never seen these rotating bridges before, so found them fascinating. To give a sense of the experience, I framed the bridge through the rails on the boat's bow. Shooting off the boat was a different experience and I learned some things in the process to correct in future outings. In the meantime, enjoy the ride. Sheepscot River, Maine, USA, October 2018

Time for a Sunday Cruise with Janet and Bill, who were wonderful and gracious hosts for part of my visit to Maine. The shots from Maine will be a mixture of travel shots and landscape/nature shots. You don't always shoot with the best light while on vacation, which is expected. But you can still make good travel photographs that capture the character of the area. I'm guessing this is lobsterman's home with the buoys decorating the wall. Shot from boat while cruising down the river. Sheepscot River, Maine, USA, October 2018

Another take on the Scat Jazz Lounge alley, this time when it was soaking wet. The light from the neon sign is reflecting all over the place and creating a funky reflection of color leading to the entrance. Fort Worth, Texas, USA, September 2018

Travel shot today from a moving boat. Well, that is not Captain Howard in the background. That is Dave, the proud owner of Captain Howard, whose family use to operate the boat commercially, but which is now retired. Dave's a bit out of focus in the background as I should have stopped down a little, but since the old tug is the main subject, it's okay in this case. Frankly, I thought I was on f8, but must have bumbed it without knowing or thinking. Dave was a cool dude, and always kept a Sony compact mirrorless camera around his neck. We picked him up on our boat and headed out to Boothbay Harbor for some lobster rolls at lunch. Sheepscot River, Maine, USA, October 2018

This time it is Captain Bill, hard at work navigating through the maze of lobster trap buoys down the sheepscot river. We had a great time that morning. You can see from the spray on the windshield it was a bit breezy that morning. Wiscasset, Maine, USA, October 2017
