A fresh pineapple in Rembrandt lighting. While shopping in Costco, they had fresh pineapples and I thought, "That would make a good subject." So I spent the next 15 minutes in the store looking for the best one to photograph. The other shoppers likely thought me a little weird as multiple pineapples were studied carefully before selecting this one. When getting home I spent the next hour playing with light modifiers. You see?, the pineapple is like a human head, so this was a good exercise for portrait photography. And if you are going to make a photograph of a pineapple, why not set up to make a good one? As it turns out, art school students are sometimes given pineapple assignments to draw or paint. Who knew? Keller, Texas, USA, September 2019
