I took as many exposures as possible during the eclipse. You never know which one that you'll like and for what reason. I like this brighter exposure which shows the clouds but also keeps the solar prominences visible. Fort Worth, Texas, USA, April 2024

Last of the eclipse pictures for a while. This was my first shot on totality when the clouds finally broke. Some pretty decent flares are visible on the right side. This is a three exposure HDR. Fort Worth, Texas, USA, April 2024

When the total eclipse hit, it was completely masked by clouds. You couldn't see a damn thing for around a minute. Totality only lasted 2 and quarter minutes at my location so you can imagine how frustrating that was. Luckily, the clouds broke enough to allow for a few shots on goal. This was at the end of totality, when the sun starts to peak through again and makes the diamond ring effect. Even caught some plasma flares around the edges. Fort Worth, Texas, USA, April 2024

Happy Moon Monday! Well, I finally got around to putting together the shots from the eclipse cycle this past January. I took a series shots, each about 6 to 7 minutes apart over a span of 3 hours 45 minutes, but for this about every other shot. Chico, Texas, USA, January 2019

Lucked out last night with a very clear sky. I drove out of town to a dark spot to avoid the city lights also. This is just a shot of the moon at it's peak eclipse cycle. This is a pretty accurate exposure and color. Studies have shown that when you are tired, the creative part of your brain is the first to slow down. Well, due to being up to shoot the entire eclipse cycle ... I'm short of sleep right now and not feeling creative, so I'll do something better later. Shot with the Canon 100-400 IS2 and 1.4x matching extender. Chico, Texas, USA, January 2019
