With just four Johnny Lightning models in my collection including this recent addition I can confidently say I dont really know too much about this brand apart from the fact its had several deaths and changes of ownership!
They have never been readily available here apart from the odd specialist model shop and I've always associated them with more premium adult aimed products rather than toys. With this in mind I'm a little confused as to where this 1975 Buick Century fits in. Its rather small size and clunky appearance suggests more Hot Wheels than Greenlight yet it still manages to pack a punch with its all metal construction and intricate wheels indicating it can't have been sold at HW and MBX prices. Can anyone help me out here?
In loose and preloved condition.

Another James Bond themed model by Johnny Lightning found at a local model shop today is this great slice of 80's American Muscle which featured in the film A View To A Kill. Its an impressive little model of the mighty Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 with a more premium approach to its detailing and realism though I hope real Corvettes didn't have bonnet panel gaps quite as large as this! ;-p
Its all metal body feels solid and weighty and complete with accurate alloy wheels and separate rubber tyres. Mint and boxed.

I'm still a huge huge fan of the James Bond franchise and doubly so for any 1/64 model offshoots which predictably appear after pretty much every film has been released. I'm pretty much a virgin when it comes to collecting Johnny Lightning branded products having previously owned just ONE which ironically itself was a 007 based Dodge Monaco so it was nice to find a couple at a local model shop recently, all James Bond themed.
This delightful 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible features in the very first Bond film Dr. No and is beautifully recreated here from its iconic styling to the masses of detailing given to it which extend right down to authentic wheel design. Mint and boxed.

Beautifully detailed and cast model of an early 1970's Dodge Monaco by Johnny Lightning in Sheriff's Department livery. This is part of the James Bond series with this one being from the film "Live And Let Die". Mint and boxed.

Looking every bit the gaudy top spec American car from 1980 and a world away from what we Europeans were making at the time is this 1980 Chevrolet Malibu. "Tasteful" whitewall tyres complimenting wheel trims which look like Beyonces dustbin lid and that epitome of great taste.....metallic gold coloured top half body colour! All very Liberace and all very OTT for a car which wasn't considered large by the standards of the day.
All this U.S. influenced era appropriate add ons have been captured very well by Johnny Lightening who have managed to make this extremely square looking saloon look like a gin palace on wheels! Considered a premium end diecast it is constructed of metal including its baseplate and is laden with lots of painted detailing and includes an opening bonnet. Part of their '80s Muscle series though to my eyes this is as far removed from what I've always perceived to be a U.S. Muscle Car as anything! Mint and boxed.
