There are quite a few vehicles where you aren't in the least bit surprised to see in your typical cheapo Chinese toy manufacturers line up and the BMW X5 especially in its first generation guise is most definitely one of those! This is Shuang Da Toys version and although its certainly not the worst i've seen it does look a little stylistically challenged especially at the front end. It of course is unlicensed and is meant to be just a cheap toy so expectations are never high but at least its body is metal, it has an interior and painted front and rear lights which are features regularly NOT found on the products of Matchbox! Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

With a front end looking so accurate right down to the detailed kidney bean shaped grille you can only imagine that BMW don't bother these days trying to sue Chinese toy makers for making unlicensed models of their vehicles! Apart from the daft graphics this is actually a decent little model of an older BMW 3 Series convertible and its made by a company called Shuang Da Toys. No i'd never heard of them before either! LOL ;-P
Its part of a range of 1/64 diecasts comprising mainly but not exclusively of convertibles with this being one of the nicest. Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

Although the real first generation BMW X5 has been out of production for over a decade it still features in the line ups of many toy makers who obviously don't feel the need to retire a casting just because the real vehicle has been superseded. This fairly basic looking one is made by the Chinese Shuang Da company and is part of a decent sized range of 1/64 castings mainly based on modern European vehicles. Its not a licensed casting but the distinctive X5 body styling shines through especially in this plain yellow colour and for a cheapo it still manages to have detailed headlamps and an interior. Part of a five vehicle set bought directly from China. Mint and boxed.

Expectations for low cost unlicensed Chinese diecasts are usually quite low but I have been pleasantly surprised by the products of a company called Shuang Da. Just like this Mercedes-Benz SL-Class they are usually well finished and and are surprisingly realistic looking with well proportioned castings and painted detailing. With badges on this could easily pass as something made by a more established toy maker. Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

Another slightly truncated little model of a Mercedes-Benz C-Class by Shuang Da. This time its finished in a rather glossy metallic blue colour which is not bad considering its budget status and even runs to painted external features badges aside of course, a sunroof and interior. This is certainly no high class diecast but is accurate enough to be collectible. Part of a five vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
