The Hot Wheels RRRoadster is one of their many generic castings i've ignored over the years and perhaps unfairly so in this case. On closer inspection it seems the designers obviously had classic Jaguar VERY much on their minds as the feline styling takes many cues from the classic E-Type and perhaps other sports coupes made by this iconic British car manufacturer. I've yet to buy an original HW version as the one pictured here is actually a Chinese copy made by a company who dare to actually identify themselves as Hot Wheels! Part of a 10 vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

With the Hot Wheels brand now synonymous the World over as the most popular low cost diecast brand it was perhaps inevitable it would get its fair share of copycat manufacturers taking advantage of the fact that the real HW range is still fairly expensive there compared to most other countries. Most are just copies of the actual castings but the manufacturer who makes this basic looking Porsche 934 Turbo RSR commits the ultimate sin of actually using the Hot Wheels name, logo and packaging colours! Its cheapo heritage is plain to see with an all plastic body, no interior and no external detailing to headlamps etc but nonetheless is fairly accurate and certainly easily identifiable as being based on a Porsche. Part of a 10 vehicle set bought directly from China back in August 2016. Mint and boxed.

If there was a competition for the blingest metallic maroon finish ever to grace a cheapo diecast then i'm sure this would be the outright winner! This blatant copy of the Hot Wheels Aston Martin DBS may be a bit on the crude side lacking any interior and an all plastic body but my is that one striking piece of paintwork! LOL.
Made in China by a toy company who dares to use the Hot Wheels name and logo and is part of a sizeable range of knock offs. Part of a four vehicle set. Mint and boxed.

There was a time when the most copied diecast maker was Tomica but that interest now seems to have shifted to the modern products of Hot Wheels with a whole load of obscure Chinese toy makers producing their own versions with very varying results. This Lamborghini Veneno is made by a manufacturer who rather brazenly identify themselves as Hot Wheels which is both ironic and extraordinarily illegal! The body is all plastic though it doesn't actually feel as cheapo as it sounds and the complicated razor edged lines of the real vehicle have been captured well with really only a lack of any badging telling you this is an unlicensed casting. Brightly coloured but devoid of any silly logos and liveries which often affect models at this end of the market it is well finished and sports wheels which ironically look as though they have been copied from Tomica. Part of a four vehicle set bought directly from China. Mint and boxed.

Being able to obtain brand new Hot Wheels Ferrari models may now be just a fading memory having lost the exclusive licensing deal to the Maisto owning May Cheong Group but thankfully there are always cheapo Chinese copies to tickle your Ferrari fancy instead! :-)
This particular copy of one of HW final Ferrari models the 599XX is made by a toy company who go straight to the top of the class for copyright infringement. Not only have they produced their own version of the original but they have also decided to brand it as a Hot Wheels too right down to the name, logo and packaging colour scheme. Quality wise it isn't as good as Mattels finest, it uses an all plastic body with no interior but looks pretty well cast with tasteful graphics and Tomica style wheels. Part of a four vehicle set. Mint and boxed.
