In years gone by Poundland used to be the go to place to find not only the usual Matchbox and Hot Wheels but all sorts of weird and wonderful Far Eastern stuff too. In recent times they have thankfully gone back to Matchbox and Hot Wheels but have largely ignored the really cheapo 1/64 diecasts except for the usual awful generic HTI and Zuru ranges.
Recently a series of twin packs have appeared which contain some rather cheeky Hot Wheels copies sold under the Nitro Legends name, no manufacturers name to be seen anywhere but after some intensive research i'm fairly confident they are produced by a company called Xu Ye.
The above model is clearly an hilarious spoof of the original Hot Wheels Bone Shaker which in some ways is quite the faithful copy, certainly at the front end with its trademark skull shaped radiator. Everything after is poor cheapo Chinese with a lot of plastic and lightweight metal.

Hilarious and rather brazen copy of the original Hot Wheels Gas Monkey Garage Corvette by a Chinese company called Xu Ye. In years gone by it was Tomica who seemed to attract all the copycat manufacturers but now its HW they have in their sights and they are coming thick and fast!
Not to Mattel standards of course, there is a lot of black plastic and blue glazing to contend with as well as thin metal and generic wheels but for a collector like me I find them irresistable!

I have pretty much zero knowledge on generic Hot Wheels castings so hopefully someone out there might recognise the name of the original version of this outrageous cheapo Chinese copy made by Xu Ye. *Now solved*
Its a shrine to blue coloured plastic which they've used liberally for its glazing and external engine detailing.

Another gloriously cheapo Hot Wheels knock off by Xu Ye but also another which requires some help in identifying the name of the original casting. *Now solved*
Clearly Xu Ye love to use blue coloured plastic in pretty much all their diecasts which in all honesty, at this end of the market isn't such an issue.

It would appear Xu Ye have quite the thing for copying overtly generic Hot Wheels designs and making them look even worse! ;-p
I'm right in saying this is a knock off of the Speedbox MPV and its fair to say even Mattel wouldn't dare use so much blue coloured plastic!
