The winter scene is from 2016 and I dug it up from my ”Projects” folder inspired by a sunny winter weather last week. I just planted that Aries 1B model on it because why not, the snowy photograph was taken for something like this anyway. It’s what the ”Projects” folder is for, a storage for inspirations.
This image makes no sense thinking about the 2001: A Space Space Odyssey context of course, but to me any spaceship photographed in snow looks great. It transforms that island into a spaceport, so that's kinda cool.

Darth Vader and Wilhuff the dog. Just a reminder of the realities of space travel. Pets need their exercise.
This is actually a remake of a photograph I made in 2018. I just wanted to try it again because, well, Wilhuff is cool.

Catching a rancor wasn’t easy. They were territorial animals, loners, suspicious of any changes in their environment. You rarely saw one in the wild because the odds were that they saw you first. But if you could locate one, probably deep in the shadows of Tatooine canyons where the suns rarely shone their light, all you really needed was a carcass of an animal for bait and a cage. Rancors liked to eat.
For a short while TK-24/7 moonlighted as a rancor catcher. Dangerous but profitable.
A well known advice was to avoid doing this anywhere near Beggar’s Canyon because any rancor found there was likely to be very cranky. They were stressed out by the racers and hotshots zooming along the main canyon passage. It was the noise you see, it would drive anyone nuts.

Something from the archives. This has been on my ”Projects” folder for three years now. There was always something missing from it and I couldn’t figure out what it was until yesterday. I had tried to make it a regular photograph without the original negative borders and the crosshairs. I think it all needs to be there.
Those Apollo mission photographs are astonishing btw. I mean seriously, if you really look at them they are just crazy cool!
These photographs were taken at Taurus-Littow landing site on the Moon by Gene Cernan on December 13, 1972 and they are from this Flickr album by Apollo Image Gallery. I have edited them in terms of colour and contrast – and the Eagle.

The wampa was a peculiar beast. Sometimes they attacked anyone misfortunate enough to cross their path, sure, but by nature they did not see human(oid)s as food. The wampas were not the brightest of all creatures in the galaxy but under the right circumstances they were clever enough to not eat the hand that fed them. So, basically this meant that if you had a handful of treats, warm clothes and some patience you could have yourself a furry new friend in no time.
It’s just that identifying your pal from the other wampas was not that simple, they all looked exactly the same. This is where the saying ”first bite is the tell” is from.
