This is a compilation of six clips of trains passing Pike's Bridge on the approach to Maynooth - all within the half hour between quarter past five and quarter to six!

The first clip is of a pair of out of service Irish Rail Class 29000 four-car DMUs (lead by 29003) approaching Maynooth empty from one of the depots in Dublin. The second clip is of a Commuter service from Maynooth to Dublin made up of a pair Class 2800 two-car DMUs, with 2806 at the rear. The third clip is of another pair of Class 29000s, this time with 29017 at the head, and on a Commuter service from Dublin to Maynooth. The fourth is yet another pair of 29000s, this time with 29003 taking up the rear on a Commuter service from Maynooth back to Dublin. The fifth clip is of six-car Irish Rail Class 22000 DMU number 22043 on an InterCity service from Dublin to Sligo. And finally, the sixth clip is of another Class 22000, but this time a three-car one, numbered 22046 on an InterCity service from Sligo to Dublin.

These two clips were both shot at Jackson's Bridge between Maynooth and Kilcock, about 5 minutes apart. The first clip shows an Irish Rail Class 22000 three-car DMU on a Sligo to Dublin service, and the second Class 22000 6-car DMU number 22041 with a Dublin to Sligo service.

A short video with two clips from my early tests with the iPhone 4's video functions. Learning to hold the camera steady is definitely something I need to work on!

The first clip is of Irish Rail Class 29000 DMU number 29028 passing Blakestown level crossing with an evening commuter service from Dublin to Maynooth.

The second clip was taken at Jackson's Bridge between Maynooth and Kilcock, and shows another Class 29000 DMU working a commuter service from Dublin to Longford.

I decided to test out the video mode on the iPhone 4's camera. The quality is actually quite good, but I clearly need to practice holding it steady - guess I had too much coffee :)

Anyhow, this movie was taken from Pike's Bridge near Maynooth looking back towards Dublin. We see an Irish Rail class 29000 4-car trainset slowing down for the signal controlling access to Maynooth station with an evening commuter service from Dublin.
