Cape Barren Goose, Cereopsis novaehollandiae
≠============≠
These are occasional visitors at WTP, on this day there were around 50-60 of them and the wing noise as the "Wedge" flew by, was very impressive.
I was able to isolate this couple.

Cape Barren Goose, Cereopsis novaehollandiae
≠============≠
Feeling a bit Portraity, this week.
+============+
I have featured this lovely Goose before.
He and his partner had a territory alongside the river at the WTP.
They had over the years hatched a number of clutches.
Some disaster occurred and he lost her, probably to foxes.
But for the past couple of seasons the noble bird has remained faithful to the territory.
I thought, perhaps, that he migh have joined with the large flock that has been in the area for awhile.
But, no, the other day we found him still at his post.
As usual I stopped and we exchanged a few head bobs, and a quick chat, and he then went back to feeding.

White-winged Tern, Chlidonias leucopterus
≠============≠
Took a journey in the morning sunshine, yes sunshine to the WTP to look for White-winged Terns.
After much searching and chasing disappearing wings over various paddocks and ponds, we managed to locate a handful feeding.
This one is just starting to come into breeding plumage.

They usually scurry thought the undergrowth, so I was surprised to see this one pop out in the open in front of me.

Brolga, Antigone rubicunda

Not the most flattering angle, but it does reveal the beauty and detail of those young wings.
They have been airborne for some months.
