Not Terribly Good Club
+==============+
We've all done it, following a bird, waiting for just the right light on the face, and the wings at the right angle.
I was pretty sure she was going to land in the tree in front of me.
Another Heroic Failure.
In my defense, I have to say that a bystander was trying to get my attention to explain to me how they had seen a 'really big bird, do you think it could be an eagle or something?" just as I had picked up the bird in the viewfinder and couldn't look away to see the around, in case I made eye-contact and encouraged the conversation.

My Flickr friend, Rob Melone, www.flickr.com/photos/rjmelone/ does these—bird on soft two-tone backdrop to a treat, and for bonus points he always gets all the wing detail in. :-)

Just for Fun
Ahhh, I'm getting too old for this.
I was following the Cormorant as it swept in from out at sea, it gave all indications it was going to land on the top of the pier, and then in a split second decision headed under the structure and behind the pylon.

No matter how quick we might be, they are just that little faster≥
Just before this one dived, it lowered its neck and body into the water, so I knew it was about to go...
Another heroic failure for the Not Terribly Good Club
