Australian Magpie, Gymnorhina tibicen
≠=============≠
Feeling a bit Portraity, this week.
+=======+

I watched this lass, walk down to the edge of a pond, momentarily bathe her chest, then turn and fly to the perch, the wet feathers moving in the light breeze to dry off.

Little Raven, Corvus mellori

Feeling a bit portraity this week

It was calling a deep gutteral, "owarrk", which must be something of a contact call as I've heard it often among pairs.

You don't want to know what goes down the cavenous opening.

Cape Barren Goose, Cereopsis novaehollandiae
≠============≠
These are occasional visitors at WTP, on this day there were around 50-60 of them and the wing noise as the "Wedge" flew by, was very impressive.
I was able to isolate this couple.

Black-faced Cuckooshrike, Coracina novaehollandiae
+==================+
It's just possible to see the end of a tiny tail poking out of the nest. It's one of two young that the Cuckoo-shrikes have hatched.
The nest is built of fine sticks and web. Each of the sticks is very short and it takes over a week or more for them to complete.
This is the third season they have nested in the same tree fork.

Chestnut Teal, Anas castanea
≠===============≠
I find it particularly difficult to id female Grey and Chestnut Teal. But I think I'm right as the majority of the ducks were Chestnut.
She took off through the bush and I just followed her for the practice.
Quite suprised to get a sharp eye.
Can't wait for the eye-detection for the D500, how much better things will be. :-)
This is not run through an AI sharpen app.
