The start of a new series. I was going to put to my blog page, but lest's see how Flickr shows it
As best I can work out the story, the alpha female in the area is establishing the rules for all those who would enter her terriroty.
About 3 seasons ago, both females decided to nest in the same tree. As each carried in nesting material and setup, the other one would throw it all out of the tree.
Eventually one of them moved to the tree across the road and things settled down.
The following year the alpha bird would have none of such a close neighbour and after much disucssion the other one moved further down the road.
I came acorss this spirited interaction the other day, so things haven't harmonised yet.
I watched the female fly across the road, and disappear into the grass, and then saw lots of wings and heard lots of calling.
Things heated up rapidly.
