Standard freight train in Austria with plain ÖBB Taurus. 1116 134 is at the head of a mixed (but mainly covered steel wagons) freight train from Hegyeshalom. This Taurus passed the other way in the morning taking car parts towards Hungary.

On a quiet afternoon for freight traffic, ČD Cargo "Peršing" 163046 and an innofreight set heading to Rečany nad Labem have just passed through Velký Osek.

With the arrival of the Taurus' from Akiem for MAV, the GySEV Vectrons seem to work any train now whereas previously they stuck to certain workings. This means that there is opportunity to capture one in the afternoon sun heading away from Budapest - as 471005 is doing seen here passing Szar.

GySEV have ordered 9 FLIRT EMU's from Stadler for delivery in 2027 so sights such as this now have an end date on them unfortunately.

The ZSSK Cargo "Laminátka" fleet are entering their final years of service with the news that the national freight operator are no longer undertaking major repairs on their fleet. The passenger operator ZSSK have already dispensed with their machines and the final one worked its last train on October 24 and is now out of kilometres.

240126 was the last machine to have a major revision including a partial repaint earlier in 2024 and therefore it was pleasing to be able to capture this in a very lucky burst of sunlight passing Bratislava-Ružinov.
