Faded RES liveried 08742 traverses the demonstration line at the Didcot Railway Centre during a running weekend in September 2017. 08604 (the resident DRC shunter) was included as brake translator.

The shunter was on loan from Harry Needle Railroad Company and was said to be returning to its owner to be prepared for contract work however this has yet to materialise and it remains at Didcot.
