Despite numerous attempts, Slovakian national operator ZSSK have not been able to dispense with the last remaining classic Class 240 'Laminatka' machines and there are still several working on a daily basis.
One of the more unusual appearances was over 4th - 6th October where 240028 was replacing a push-pull Class 263 set on stopping services on the Malacky to Nové Zámky line through Bratislava.
A lovely and weatherworn 240 028 with four traditional Bdtmee coaches has just left Devínska Nová Ves heading to Bratislava running around 15 minutes behind schedule.

This machine was withdrawn by December 2023 and was sold to the Railway Museum of the Slovak Republic, arriving at its new home on 13th December.

"I will be your colleague until retirement" boasts the slogan on the side of ZSSK Cargo 363 090 as it passes Bratislava-Ružinov with a lengthy mixed freight, the yellow of the livery complimenting the yellow pantograph and yellow wagons at the front of the train.

Os 4624 Nové Zámky - Bratislava hl.st has just left Bratislava-Vinohrady.
For a location normally busy with freight traffic, this was one of three trains photographed here between 1400 and 1800 which was rather disappointing!

VTG/Retrack 240013 still carries the blue white and green of former owner ŽOS Zvolen and is seen here avoiding the shadows leaving Devínska Nová Ves with a train of cereal wagons.

Formerly BDZ (Bulgarian State Railways) 43 543, this Skoda machine now has a new life working for RTI Rail Trans International and has taken the Czech numbering series of Class 242, seen here not far from the stop of Bratislava-Vinohrady with a long train of empty tank wagons.
These "imported" machines are a bit of a mess with some refurbished Bulgarian machines with part Czech numbers (like this one), some former CD machines with Bulgarian numbers, some former CD machines keeping their original numbers and some former CD machines with complete Bulgarian numbers and VKM country codes!
