There were huge crowds out for the Canada 150 celebrations in downtown Whitehorse. The parade was absolutely brilliant with lots of participants, brightly coloured costumes, floats and all the rest. It was a really great morning!

A fireworks display marked the end of Canada Day celebrations in Summerside on Prince Edward Island. The waterfront made a beautiful and reflective venue for the show. Given that this was my first time photographing the event in the city, I had to guess at the best location. In the end, I think I found a decent spot to set up and shoot, although the fireworks were further away and smaller in the frame than I would have liked. Next year, I'll try to get a little closer, or bring a slightly longer lens. The big bonus of shooting from the location I chose was the ability to catch some of the Summerside waterfront in the images, and in this shot, two kayakers enjoying the show from a closer vantage point.
