In a winter without snow, the landscape becomes as if drawn with charcoal. Heerde in NL.
What you see in the photo is not the IJssel, which is a huge river. Around this landscape determining mega river, you find a myriad of small streams, this is probably part of the Terwoldse wetering, which is one of those streams, quite long but you can almost jump over it.
