This Art Deco courthouse was built in 1938-39 with the designs of William M. Bickel. It was funded by the Public Works Administration (PWA), and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

This structure is also known more commonly as the Perea Casa. It dates from the 1860s and according to Jimmy Wayne ( www.flickr.com/photos/auvet/ ) it, or at least the first floor, was used as the Sandoval County Courthouse from 1912 until the late 1920s. Today it is back in private hands and is reported to be up for sale.

This structure is located one parcel behind Corrales Road, but it is still visible from that highway. It is located a bit to the north of the old Corrales Plaza, but there are no plaques or markers here designating this as an historic site. I was only able to find this structure because of data provided by Jimmy. Please see where I have geotagged this photograph in order to find it.

This courthouse was erected in 1874, originally as the Murphy-Dolan Store. When that business failed in the late 70s, it was converted into the Lincoln County Courthouse. It was used as such from 1880 until 1913 when the county seat was moved about 40 miles to the west to Carrizozo. It replaced the county's 1869 courthouse that still stands just down the main street from this one.

The structure is a contributing property to the Lincoln Historic District, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1966. It had been designated a National Historic Landmark District six years prior.

This Mission-style courthouse was built in 1940. It would fit right in anywhere in the state.

Socorro County is located in the heart of the state between Albuquerque and Las Cruces.
