The Barnstable County Courthouse was erected in 1831. Architect Alexander Parris and contractor Jacob Abner Taylor designed and constructed it, respectively. Additions have been placed on the west, north, and south elevations in 1879, 1893, and 1906. The courthouse was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1981.
Barnstable is the county that comprises Cape Cod. It is the Bay State's easternmost county.

Originally built in 1907 as the Judge Justin Dewey Elementary School, this Classical Revival structure stands at 9 Gilmore Avenue. It was designed by architects from the firm Cooper & Bailey. The building has since been converted into the Southern Berkshire District Court.
Great Barrington, Massachusetts is a town located in the southwest of Berkshire County between Pittsfield and the Connecticut state line. The community is home to a secondary district court and registry of deeds for Berkshire County, though the city of Pittsfield is the official shire town, or county seat.

Erected in 1876, this lovely Gothic Revival structure was designed by New York architect William Appleton Potter. It is a contributing property to the Park Square Historic District, which was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and expanded in 1991.
The structure was initially used as a library, and from 1903 to 1932 housed the Berkshire Museum, a county historical society and genealogical museum. The building now houses the Berkshire County Probate and Family Court. The structure's name is sometimes spelled 'Athenæum.'
