I stood in the middle of this back country road for a long while- It was very quiet. I looked both ways, I was all by myself. I stood their still as the asphalt underneath my feet, feeling the wind on my neck and listening to it coerse the sage brush to move. I watched the sun set - what a glorious sight. This road leads nowhere, yet everywhere. it symbolizes my longing to see what lies at the end of the journey, the end of this road.

I had so much fun wading up to my fripples in the ice cold winter run off to get this shot along the Sweet Creek trail in Oregon. I had set up my comp and went to take the photo when my camera fell off my ball head. Luckily my camera strap wrapped tightly around the tripod averted a watery plunge. After determining that a loose Lplate base plate screw was the culprit and that I had no tools with me, I got dressed, packed up all my gear, drove 1 hour back into town (Mapleton, OR), bought the right tool, fixed the loose bracket, drove back to this spot, carefully waded out into the water and got my shot. Well worth all of the hassle.

I really like the symmetry and pattern created by these stairs. Black and White seemed rather fitting for this locale.
