Shooting this waterfall in the dark under the Milky Way was a surreal experience. The deafening roar of the water cascading down amplified the isolation of the night, drowning out all other sounds. Perched awkwardly on the side of a steep, loose embankment, every movement required careful, off-angled footing, making it feel precarious. However, as soon as this image was processed and displayed on the back of my camera, all the minor inconveniences vanished. The breathtaking scene made every moment of discomfort and uncertainty worthwhile, turning a challenging shoot into a memorable triumph. 🌌💦

Standing alone in the pitch dark, the alien landscape of jagged lava rock stretched endlessly around me, each step crunching softly underfoot. The Milky Way boldly testified overhead in a breathtaking display, its billions of stars forming a celestial river of light. As I set up my camera, the only sounds were my movements and the occasional whisper of wind. In the distance, a single path wound its way up a lava cone, a dark silhouette against the starry sky, as if it were reaching toward the very core of the Milky Way.
This path might parallel our individual journeys in life. Just as this trail ascends toward the galaxy's heart, we too must embark on our own unique journeys, aspiring to reach greater heights and uncover our boundless potential. The path may be challenging in the dark and the night may seem endless, but the destination—the realization of our dreams and ambitions—is always worth striving for.

I have always feared the dark, making it a challenge to shoot the Milky Way at night by myself. Last night, I decided to face that fear head-on and venture out alone. I had long dreamed of capturing this bridge, but the light pollution from Boise always held me back. To my delight, I arrived to find the Milky Way clearly visible in the night sky. However, my fears of shooting alone quickly turned into frustration as the area was bustling with locals fishing in the dark, their bright flashlights cutting through the night. Adding to the chaos, fishing boats with blinding floodlights sped up and down the Snake River, music blaring. Despite the unexpected hustle and bustle, I met a fellow local photographer with the same idea. We chatted for a while, and I made a wonderful new acquaintance. After much patience and perseverance, I captured this stunning image. I'm very grateful for the light pollution—it did a fantastic job illuminating the foreground! What a beautiful night it turned out to be. It was well worth it all.

As the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of fire, this old homestead leans gently with time. In the foreground, a sea of camas lilies sway in the evening breeze, their delicate beauty adding to the scene’s serene majesty. Nature and history converge here, whispering stories of the past and promising the magic of new dawns. 🌅🌸 #landscapephotography #sunsetphotography

Late afternoon at the historic Masonic Temple in Bannack, MT was a truly breathtaking experience. The warm light from the horizon cast beautiful highlights and shadows, breathing new life into the historic structure. I explored several side-angled compositions but chose this head-on shot for its resemblance to a portal to another dimension. This flat surface seemed wonderfully out of place against the majestic big sky country backdrop, reminding me of the incredible beauty and mystery that exists in our world. I'm deeply grateful for moments like these that inspire awe and wonder.
