It is amazing how a small opening on an early overcast day can offer such dramatic lighting. While driving along the Florence river, this wonderful scene unveiled.

Coming from Las Vegas, NV, I really appreciate the fact that the PNW offers so many more photo opportunities, especially on cloudy days, and shooting waterfalls in such conditions is really neat, a novel experience for me. Here is one of the popular Punchbowl Falls. A beautiful hike and location. Although, wading out into the fast moving water was nerve wracking for me with all my expensive camera gear on board!

I found this neat little pond near Smith Rock the other day during sunset. During the last minutes before sunset, the sun broke thru a persistent cloud bank that didn't want to move off the horizon.
