While waiting for a southbound I photographed an enthusiastic track inspector rolling across the Larkspur Bridge. He must have seen me standing below because he honked and threw up a peace sign in the front window. It's nice to photograph the other crafts once in a while.

Kyle 8041 leads a eastbound tied down at Stratton Colorado. Its always nice seeing both of the ex BN SD40's paired up with one another.

Buffalo and Pittsburg 3319 leads a westbound Kyle train as it departs Selden Kansas. The train is framed by one of the very few trees that stands this far west on the Kyle.

Little trains are fun to shoot too! Looking back to July during the Wallace County Fair. The Wallace County Western streaks through the repurposed county road bridge located inside the fairgrounds. This homemade train built in the 70's takes fairgoers on an approximant two thirds mile trip around the fairgrounds. For three nights out of the year this little railroad becomes the busiest railroad in Wallace County and all of NW Kansas for that matter. A huge thank you is deserved for all the volunteers keeping this home owned carnival going. There is a lot of work and planning that goes on behind the scenes to make this happen every year.
