This lovely origami model is called "Rain Star" or in Spanish "Estrella de la Lluvia", because when it was created by Aldo Marcell it was raining ;-)

I wanted to see what the difference is when I changed the color, so that's why you see 2 variations, I like them both....which one has your preference?

I put them on a mirror so you can see at the same time the other site.

This is an older modular origami model by Aldo Marcell, called "Noria Star".
Someone showed me these units years ago and I re-folded them once more and take a photo this time ;-)). It's an easy model to fold.

Yesterday I presented "ME", which is one unit ;-)

You see two versions: the silver one is made of 8 units and the golden one is made of 10 units.
Both stars are folded from rectangles 1:2.
I used shiny foil-paper(6x12cm).

This origami "Noria Star-unit" is based on the modular origami star-unit from Mette Pederson and Ernesto Del Rio Jiménez.

Here you see twice 5 joint elements of another origami-model I'm folding. The final model will look different, have a look if you want ;-)
I always find it interesting how color change works. Both stars have the same size, but at first glance the right seems bigger.

Remember the dancing stars? They were made from 5 elements, adding 25 more and you will get this origami model "Open faced tornado kusudama" by Aldo Marcell.
I decided to fold this model with a double colored piece of paper end reverse the folds, so I would get two "faces". The sun helped me and I could created 4 faces ;-))
