Can't recall if using the water hose in the front yard was part of our original plan...no real clues in the other sessions from that time, I hadn't done anything like that in awhile.
Looks like it was more of a "come on over, we'll come up with some wacky stuff!" day, we did some photos in the front yard, used the canned smoke and my little SIMA lights back in my apartment, there was at least one outfit change, we were having a time, that day.
Kristin is always up for everything, looks like this was one of those days we did Everything.
Here's the pro-tip: find a collaborator willing to go even farther than you are.

The end of this session, Hannah Rose was quite put out, a reflection of my own mood, I couldn't "find the note", couldn't get into a rhythm. I initially assumed this was taken at the end of the session, based on how I remember Hannah's mood, but nope!
I was already feeling out of sync with the day, we'd waited in line far too long for a sandwich that did not warrant such a wait, I was anticipating the rain not stopping, instead trying out the projection idea that had been percolating in my head for awhile.
Once again...the passage of time and expectations reveals hidden gems. Might be time also washes away the baggage of a time and a place, leaving only the image.

ALL MY PHOTOS ARE NOW ON SALE!
Our first session together had been, for me, lackluster. No fault of McKenzie's, the location I'd picked was new, and didn't really do it for me. I think we'd had another location in mind, but it had been closed that day, so we were forced to a second spot that wasn't really up to snuff.
I could see the possibilities, though, set this session up as quickly as I could. Kept it simple, right outside McKenzie's apartment (meant I drove to her place, made it as hassle-free for her as possible), some delicious afternoon sun, that's all we needed, that's all I wanted.
And it all came out just right. Took me not getting discouraged by the first session, a lesson I should've learned more thoroughly, looking through the archives. Lots of models I had a subpar session with, I never gave 'em another go, and that shows a lack of vision! Like I do with Polaroids, these days, I should always give folks at least two attempts. Who knows what that first day was the result of!
Always give it another go.
