Eastbound Canadian Pacific train 470 is just out of Richwood and approaching Watertown, Wisconsin on Sunday morning April 12th, 2015. – The CP 470 & 471 trains have had quite a variety of motive power recently with this days train featuring a pair of Rapid City Pierre & Eastern SD40-2 locomotives. – A lashup of an older EMD model that is becoming increasingly rare in a North American railroad industry now dominated by modern high-tech safety cab locomotives. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

Further down the line from Richwood, CP train 470 is just rolling into Nashotah in this view from the Highway C overpass which is right in town. – The RCP&E 3426 was formerly the IC&E 6443 and is only about six weeks out of the paint shop in this scene.

This pair of diesels were at one time sister Union Pacific units with both being built back in January of 1980 - - I would say that leader looks just fabulous for a 35 year old locomotive ! ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

One final shot of Canadian Pacific train 470 with the attractive set of EMD SD40-2s, this time rounding the curve just east of the village of Pewaukee. - - The blue & gold former IC&E units will be missed once they have all been re-painted, but I must say that this orange & yellow paint scheme does look very sharp, and will be a welcome sight as they occasionally make their way through southeast Wisconsin on the CP. – April 12th, 2015 ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

Rounding the curve and approaching Nashotah, Wisconsin the morning of November 7th, 2014 - and only an NS SD70M in the consist broke up a matched set of five Rapid City Pierre & Eastern SD40-2s - this is westbound Canadian Pacific train 471 and the crew is short on time so the CP dispatcher will be doing everything possible to get this train up to Portage quickly. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©

On December 6th, 2014 eastbound Canadian Pacific train 470 with a matched set of three RCP&E SD40-2s is rolling into the city Oconomowoc, Wisconsin – That small sign indicating S in one mile is for Cooney siding located just to the west of this location. ~~ A Jeff Hampton Photograph ©
