A lone salmon navigates the shallows of Fall Creek in Oregon. The amount of time spent in the water, motionless behind my camera was excruciating. Some people ask why i didn't opt for setting up the camera with remote trigger? I prefer the control of being able to make slight composition adjustments as needed. A millimeter or two shift with wide-angle can make a big difference in what the lens encompasses.

A large Pink salmon is hooked. I was swimming nearby when I heard the shoreline excitement. So I headed towards the fight and this is what I saw.
This fish was released.

A male Chinook Salmon in full spawning dress moves upstream. This is a mixed school of Chinook and Coho Salmon. The only way to get this shot was to be lying among boulders to break up my seemingly seal-shaped appearance. Surprisingly, the large Chinook Salmon where more apprehensive of my presence than the smaller other species.
