Die Gelbe Teichrose kommt in großen Teilen Europas und Asiens, in Nordafrika und im Osten der USA und in der Karibik vor. Sie besiedelt sowohl stehende als auch langsam fließende Gewässer. Ihre Milieuansprüche sind denen der Weißen Seerose ähnlich, sie gedeiht jedoch auch an schattigen Plätzen. Bei uns ist dieese Teichrose auch unter dem Namen Mummel bekannt. Auch wenn sie in Deutschland immer noch die häufigste einheimische Seerosenart ist, so gilt auch sie als gefährdet und steht deshalb unter Naturschutz.

Today in spite of the very changeable weather we undertook a walk in the botanical garden. I was entrancedly from the huge number of the colours, blossoms and forms. Small showers provided occasionally for "wet - look".
